Garden Fence Woodworking Plans

To build a garden fence, start by planning where you want to install the fence. Use a wire to install it. Once you have the fence posts in place, attach the end posts and then add all the middle posts. This way, your posts will be well aligned.

Use appropriate wood for your posts and fence. If you are using pressure-treated wood for fencing, make sure it is resistant to insects and decay. Cedar is the most expensive wood to use, but it is also most likely the best wood choice because it shrinks the least; it will remain beautiful and regular.

Be sure to build your fence entirely on your property. Don't let it extend onto a neighbor's property or public space. Using an oil-based wood coating on the finished fence will give your fence a new look. Follow one of the free fence plans below to build your new fence.
